Shawnee Pottery ~ "Little Chef" Cookie Jar
This is really sweet!  Beautiful 1940s cookie jar features our Little Chef and his Little Gingerbread Chef companion!  Six sided, so two each of chef, gingerbread, and "cookies".  Nice high relief on the characters as well as on the words "COOKIES".  The underglaze is perfectly applied, no stray colors here and there, very precise painting, and bright colors.  The background is a lemony yellow (closest to my photos of the lid and underside).  I like this size very much; it is large enough to hold all your cookies, but small enough to sit on a kitchen counter without being overwhelming.  The jar stands 6" tall without the lid, 8

" to the top of the finial, and is 5

" in diameter.  Marked on underside "USA".  No chips, nicks, cracks, or crazing.  Only one small "bruise" to the unglazed pottery on the underside of the lid (only you will know!).  Overall very good condition, especially considering it is now around 80 years old!  A fine addition to any collection.
The cookie jar weighs just under three pounds unpackaged, so I am estimating 4 - 5 pounds shipping weight.  Several options available for shipping (USPS, FedEx, UPS).
