Description
Up for auction is my brothers 1978 Triumph Spitfire. He bought the car not taking into account his 6'4 build and can't comfortably sit in the car so he's asked me to sell her for him. She's a well taken care of car as you'll see in the auction photos and in the description. Have a service history / file going back to the 90's on the car.If your looking at this auction then you know a "No Reserve" auction with a starting bid of just .00 is
extremely
rare thing to see, even more rare to see one in this condition selling at No Reserve.
Highest bidder at the end of the auction takes her home.
Mechanicals:
The car runs and sounds great. Starts right up with no issues, smoke or ticking noises. Recent tune up, oil change and air filter replaced. Nice clean and tidy engine bay. Still retains all the original smog
equipment including the original smog pump which you never see on these cars.
Inner hood and fender wells look great. Has strong clutch and brake peddles. And the hand brake works as well. Needs nothing to my knowledge at this time.
Exterior
:
This is a nice driver quality car. Sports the chrome luggage rack and chrome door side mirrors. All glass is clear and scratch / cloud free. All chrome exterior pieces including the bumpers are in excellent condition. Like new tires and chrome wheel trim rings. New rear taillights look great. Nice door and panel fit. Nice front & rear lower valances, rockers panels and bumpers. Not an expert but I find no signs of rust or rust repairs on the exterior of the car. Car as I understand it spent much of its life in California and Nevada Again, a nice driver quality car. There are a few blemishes / flaws in the front hood paint but they don't show up in the photos. Just being as open / honest as possible.
Interior: In very good condition as seen in the photos. Very nice dash. Newer carpet kit, newer door seals and new Triumph logo floor mats. Seats are in good condition but the pattern is not correct. But don't fret as the car comes with new correct seat and headrest covers that I ordered directly from England.
Electrical's: At last check all exterior lights and dash gauge lights where working.
Gauges: All gauges are correct "Smith" brand.
Soft Top: The soft top is in good condition. Needs 1 maybe 2 snaps on the body replaced.
Underbody: As seen in the auction photos she's clean and original.
Trunk: The trunk is rock solid. The new seat covers and new floor mats are in the trunk as well.
Title: Car comes with clean / clear / open Nevada state issued title. Also, have several books, manuals and owners handbook for the car.
Misc: The Tachometer and speedometer bounce around a bit so I special ordered from England the two new cables and a new fuel sending for the car. Car is scheduled to go to the repair shop on the 27th to have those new parts installed in hopes the new parts will correct he issue.

In Closing: The above description is my observations and opinions and they very from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding.
If I have missed anything in the cars description it was not my intention so please ask for as much detail as you need to make an informed decision on the car prior to bidding.
Don't want the winning bidder saying afterwards well you missed this or that. Be a responsible bidder and ask all questions prior to bidding. Not responsible if I've missed anything.
Opinions vary from person to person so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or any extra photos please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. She's a 43+ year old car in driver quality condition. Due to the cars age and having no way to warranty the car I'm selling her as in "As Is" condition and mileage exempt. A 0 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end via PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account then don't bid.
